16 Jan Vortex Razor HD Gen II 4.5-27X56
If you are serious about your precision rifle scopes, this is a scope you must take a look at. This item is built like a tank and you can tell just by holding it. The significant weight to this scope, as it is one of the heaviest I’ve held, can be beneficial in two ways. For one; a scope with such significant heft can take a beating and handle all the different climates and conditions it will be used in. The second is recoil. With the weight this adds to the weapon decreases the recoil and makes it easier to stay right on target. This scope has an amazing magnification range. The 4.5 power gives you a very wide range of view- critical if you have many targets at relatively close distances, spread apart from each other laterally. If you have a far target, this scope can provide you with up to 27x power! There are very few tactical scopes that have magnification that high. The Razor HD Gen II is designed with the reticle in the First Focal Plane, so regardless of your magnification setting, all sub tensions remain equal. The objective lens is 56mm in diameter, which helps with the size of your exit pupil (despite common belief that your objective lens size is strictly due to light gathering). The glass on this scope is top-notch. It is very clear even in low light settings, and also has an illuminated reticle if you choose to use it. Whenever you are making adjustments on your turrets, it provides very tactile and audible clicks which are a nice feature, especially if there is not much lighting and cannot see how many mrad/moa you are adjusting. Compared to other optics I have used, I definitely say this is in the top 3. You can find this optic online usually around the 2500 dollar range, so the price has gone down since I got it. If you are military or law enforcement, I recommend ordering off their actual website, and you automatically get 35% off any item. However, the company compensates nicely by selling it for 3400 dollars on their site (still a nearly 300 dollar savings). Their customer service and lifetime warranty is one of the best in the business and any questions you have I guarantee they can answer them to the best of their abilities. Great scope, great customer service, fairly priced…you can’t ask for more.
